A NEW BEGINNING!

September 22, 2020

Sunset Lodge No. 623 took steps in a new direction at the Stated Meeting last night. With 16 members present the vote was unanimous to approve the merger with Beallsville Lodge No 237. The merger will be effective on St John's Day next (December 27, 2020) when the two lodges will become Sunset Lodge No. 237. The new officers will be installed at the January Stated Meeting assuming that we will be able to hold one at that time.

Until that time Sunset 623 will not be meeting in person. We have acquired a Zoom license and will be hosting officer meetings, mentor meetings, and member get together sessions in the interim and likely throughout the coming year until the virus situation is under control. More information on that subject is forthcoming on this web site.

Last night we also suspended six members who have failed to pay dues for 2020, voted in favor of a petition for initiation and membership, read out three new petitions for initiation and membership, voted to accept two transfers and voted to accept two resignations.

We look forward to our new partnership with the members of Beallsville Lodge and feel assured that the Lodge will prosper in the coming years.
